It’s hard to draw with my finger.

I finally bought an iPad.  The main reason was to use it as a drawing tool.  Here’s my first drawing.  I made it in the Paper app, which I might love more than using crayons and real paper, which is crazy I know.

I asked Dan what I should draw and he said, “The dog.”

Hipstersaurus

Hipstersaurus Rex suspects that skinny jeans were not made for all body types.

Forgive the crappy phone-camera image.  This drawing has been sitting on my desk for months waiting for me to remember to bring in my scanner.

#31 Hike on Angel Island

I used to think that a PB&J was the perfect summit snack.  Last weekend Sagarika introduced me to something even better…

#10 Pair-o-keets: Tikka Masala

Last Saturday, I made tikka masala paste from Jamie Oliver’s recipe and cooked it up with coconut milk, veggies and tofu.  It was delicious but, um, a bit spicy…

#23 Half Marathon

Today at about 10 am PST I completed my first 30 before Thirty. I finished my very first half marathon in just under 2 hours!

Look familiar?

30 before Thirty

I first got the idea to do a “30 before Thirty” from Nicole Balch the author of one of my favorite blogs.  It’s sort of like a bucket list, but I have to complete all thirty items before my 30th birthday.  That means to stay on track I have to complete at least one every two weeks!  (Luckily some are easy and many can be done at the same time.)

I made a small adjustment to Nicole’s idea  (suggested by my friend Julie): my list actually contains more than 30 items (35) but I only have to complete 30 of them.  That way I can change my mind about a few of them without feeling like a failure :)

Ready. Set. Go!

The MacPup

It’s been a while since I last posted.  But I have a really good excuse: a 12-pound fluffball named Ada.

Figure 1: Ada.

Since she comes to work with me, I spend my idle moments playing with her instead of drawing.

Figure 2: Ada on a day when the grass is mowed.

But she’s getting older and calmer so she needs less attention.

Figure 3: Ada on a rainy (muddy) day.

And I’m really missing the doodling.  So I’m going to try to make more time for it.

It feels good to be back.
